Students will act out scenes from
the popular Musicals.  Students will
participate in improvisational acting
games to get their creativity flowing.
They will learn both singing and
acting techniques for musical
theater along with some simple
choreography. Students will
present final scenes at the end of

This six-week course will allow
students the opportunity to work
on developing characters through
improvisation, theater games,
scene study, rehearsal and
performance of a short scene.
Students will also develop audition
material and experiment with
writing scenes.

Six week course that covers basic
voice technique.  Students will
learn basic singing elements,
including warm-ups, posture and
breathing technique.  They will
expand their repertoires and sing
in a group, as well as have solo
parts of songs.  This is a fun,
relaxed way to begin building
confidence singing in front of
peers.  A short performance of
students' work will be presented at
the end of the session.

Lyndie Laramore has been actively involved in the classical music scene in Boston for the past two years.  She is a recent
graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, where she received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance.  See

Teens will learn the art of performing on stage by preparing and participating in a production of scenes from musical
theater.  They will each have one-on-one coaching, concentrating on individual voice performance and technique.
Students will have the opportunity to try different styles of music and work toward finding their own voice! The
workshop will culminate in a performance of the scenes that they have prepared.
This class is intended for
students with some vocal experience.

This class teaches students with
little or no dance experience basic
techniques in musical theatre
dance styles.  Set to only
kid-friendly music from familiar
musicals, students are taught
essentials of body awareness,
posture, balance, and movement
in addition to learning dance steps
and sequences. Appropriate attire
and shoes are required.  Class
meets for six weeks. Registration
is limited to 12 children per class .

Challenges

Students with some acting skills will explore different challenges each week, including changing one's age
convincingly, dealing with romantic scenes, on-stage violence, difficult or uncomfortable language, sadness and other
hard to muster emotions, and effectively connecting with your fellow actors.  This is not a performance workshop, but
will focus on technique and practice.  Designed for those serious about developing their craft, the workshop will deal
with mature subject matter.  An audition/interview is required prior to acceptance.
Limit 8 persons.
